Emergency Preparedness Table-Top Exercises were conducted over 2 days on 13.01.2023 and 19.01.2023. A split-zone approach was taken to ensure that all staff would be involved despite safety measures due to COVID-19. The first scenario simulated a fire in the kitchen at level 1, and the second scenario simulated a fire outside the fire lift at level 2.
Emergency Preparedness Drill was conducted jointly with SCDF on 29.05.2023. The scenario simulated a fire in the kitchen at level one and tested MH’s Company Emergency Response Team’s (CERT) ability to respond to fire emergencies and contain the situation until help from SCDF arrives. The drill involved all residents – including patients with limited mobility – and staff, who were promptly evacuated to their designated assembly areas.
Emergency Preparedness CERT
Audit was conducted by SCDF on 22.11.2023. Areas of audit include
interviews with the CERT members to test their understanding of their roles,
responsibilities, and functions during an emergency. The SCDF Audit team also evaluated the CERT’s
performance in activation and response, evacuation, security, and recovery.
Pandemic Preparedness Drill was conducted by the clinical leadership team on 20.09.2023 involving clinical management staff.
